Infratek acquires company within the railway segment in Sweden

Infratek has acquired all the shares in WKTS AB (Wigh Kellokumpu Track AB), with acquisition date 1 February 2012. As a result, WKTS becomes a subsidiary of the Infratek Group.

WKTS has 37 employees. The company was founded in 2003 by Karl Johan Wigh and Jari Olsson. Each of them owned 50 percent of WKTS, until the acquisition by Infratek. The company's turnover was SEK 56 million in 2010.

Railway is a strategic growth area for Infratek, and through the acquisition, Infratek gets closer to the goal of becoming a major player in the Swedish railway market. The acquisition strengthens the competitiveness, competence and capacity of Infratek within the railway segment, and position the company for further growth.

Infratek railway activities include operation and maintenance of railway lines at Hagalund north of Stockholm, on behalf of Trafikverket and Jernhusen, as well as operation and maintenance of the Arlanda Express on behalf of A-train. In addition, Infratek was awarded a contract with Trafikverket regarding the maintenance of railway lines north of Stockholm (as announced 26 January 2012). WKTS adds further expertise to Infratek within the railway segment, and gives access to a larger geographic market with assignments in Gothenburg and Norrköping.
