Infratek awarded strategically important contract with Vattenfall
Infratek, with the business area Local Infrastructure has been awarded a contract with Vattenfall Eldistribution AB concerning operations, maintenance, and contingency services on the regional power grid and distribution grid in the Bergslagen area in Sweden. The contract also concerns services towards the regional grid, which will be carried out by the business area Central Infrastructure.
The contract is of significant strategic importance, and provides access to a new part of the distribution market in Sweden. This is the first of ten areas Vattenfall will put up for competitive tendering during the years ahead. Infratek finds that the industrial solution for the market in Sweden provides growth opportunities for the company as a total supplier.
The contract runs from 1 May 2012 until 31 December 2014, with an option for one more year. The value of the contract is estimated to SEK 60 million annually.
According to regulations the other tenders have the right to lodge complaints for 10 days. The contract cannot be signed prior to the expiration of this period and prior to the evaluation of any complaints.
Vattenfall Eldistribution AB is a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Vattenfall AB. The parent company Vattenfall AB is 100 percent owned by the Swedish state.
